Gary M. Frederick, O.D., was born to Wanda and James Frederick in Brownwood, Texas, on October 18, 1944. Wanda was sixteen and James was a young bomber pilot in the Pacific.

  He is a practicing optometrist and is a Texas Board Certified Glaucoma Specialist. Some of his many hobbies and interests include running, weight lifting, biking, canoeing and fine art sculpturing. He and his four brothers traveled most of their lives as army dependants.

  His family and travels have provided him with a broad cultural background to draw upon. Included in his family are German, Irish, Hispanic, and African American heritage.

  He lives in Texas with his wife Dori, a pharmacist, and has two children and two grandchildren.
