When train lover Dale Connors boards the California Zephyr, he certainly isn’t planning on a romantic rendezvous — it just works out that way.

  Dale is a genuine neurotic. Shy and anxiety-ridden, he always over-thinks a situation, losing out on every opportunity. With drinking his only release, Dale reaches out, however hesitantly, for that human connection. Will he find it with the voluptuous and animated woman he meets on the train? The trip from Denver to San Francisco and back gives Dale ample time to contemplate the many stories of his life: the stories of family, friendship, sorrow — and lost dreams of a fastball.
