Thanks to the many decades of environmental degradation and abuse, the insects are taking over.

  Changes in the position of humanity in the food chain have force the affluent to create technologically advanced cities to protect the elite from the growing population of insects. A few lucky humans are living in high tech fortresses surrounded by walls of steel and clouds of deadly insecticides.

  The rest roam the deadly wilderness preying upon one another or fight for bare survival in what is left of the old cities.

  A young man in one of the new cities has a wife and a career; his survival seems assured.

  Then, his luck runs out.
